Martirano Palace is a graceful 17th-century residence located in the heart of the historic center of Lecce, surrounded by the typical Baroque architecture of the city.

Owned by Baron Cardamone, a tax collector, who was killed during a popular uprising. In the 18th century, however, it was owned by Baron Martirano (from which it takes its name), and on his death, it was divided between his two sons. The palace originally took up the whole block and during the last years of the 19th and early 1900s it was inhabited by a wealthy landowner from Monteroni, Calilli, who commissioned the wonderful frescoes of the Venetian school and a canvas that reproduces the wedding of Antonio and Cleopatra which can still be admired in the halls of the main floor. During the Second World War the building was the seat of a military command and subsequently owned by an agricultural entrepreneur before being sold to the current owners in the 90s.

The house extends over three levels: the ground floor which includes a tavern with two bedrooms and a bathroom; the first floor with three bedrooms with en suite bathroom; the second floor with a bedroom and a bathroom used as a laundry.

The property is completed by an attic that runs around the entire perimeter of the first-floor apartment of approximately 560sqm and an internal garden of approximately 125sqm full of colorful and fragrant plants.
