The historic house (old Customs House), in the 1600s it was used as a Customs House, is located in Madesimo an Italian municipality of 531 inhabitants in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy.
Now the Customs House, which has retained its name, is used as a Restaurant Pub and Inn, located in Valle Spluga, 1550 m above sea level, within the Mountain Community of Valchiavenna, subdivided into the hamlets of Madesimo, Pianazzo, Isola and Montespluga, while the nearby locality of Motta, which is accessed from Madesimo by a carriage road, is instead a hamlet of the municipality of Campodolcino (to which it is connected by a funicular railway).
Madesimo, with its historic Customs House, is a well-known winter sports resort with more than 60 km of slopes, numerous cross-country circuits, snowmobiling and snow kiting.
In fact, there is also a heliport here within walking distance of the house, for helicopters to land and take off.
In fact, many skiing guests choose to reach from the very nearby resort of Saint Moritz, the resort of Madesimo by helicopter. This resort is every skier’s dream.
The inn, with its rooms and a private apartment, has recently hosted nobles, kings and public figures.
